Extron Launches Smallest 1G AV-over-IP Encoder in the World — the NAV E 121
Extron just debuted the smallest AV-over-IP Encoder in the world (literally handheld-sized) into its NAV ecosystem with the NAV E 121, and it’s already shipping. The NAV E 121 streams ultra-low latency and high-quality HDMI video and audio over 1 Gbps copper Ethernet and standard IP networks. This new economical NAV encoder is just half the size of competing encoders, yet it offers the same ground-breaking performance as other NAV products. Featuring the Extron-patented PURE3 codec, the NAV E 121 delivers real-time streaming of “visually lossless video” at resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and ultra-low latency over 1 Gbps.
The NAV E 121 features an HDMI 2.0 loop-thru for local display or confidence monitoring and an RS-232 control port. Support for AES67 audio-over-IP facilitates integration with Extron’s broad range of audio DSPs or other IP-enabled audio components. NAV systems can be deployed as a high-performance IP-based video and audio matrix, combining the “flexibility of an IP-based system with the integration-friendly features found in Extron conventional matrix switchers.” Purpose-built to support demanding professional AV applications, the highly scalable and powerful NAV platform enables secure distribution of AV signals to thousands of endpoints.
