Sometimes the wider AV industry forgets how far the rental and staging market spreads. Of course, our natural inclination is to think about concerts and similar live events. But what about trade shows? Of course, these are considered a giant part of our industry. But how often do we think about them or cover them in media as part of the rental and staging industry? We write a lot about who brought what to which trade show, but do we write as much about all it took to make this booth happen? Running power to it? Providing a reliable network? The construction it took to build the booth in three days? Everything that happens during breakdown? Food for thought for the other industry journos if for no one else.
