Some of my best and most important relationships in AV are the ones I’ve made kind of on accident and because of a common interest or belief outside of AV. From dogs to Broadway to Taylor Swift to vinyl records to intersectionality — I’ve bonded with some of my favorite people about these first. And then AV second. Also, sometimes the most memorable relationships are the ones we create just by being a nice person. I’ll never forget interviewing someone on the ISE show floor just last week, and at the end of the interview, they said, “Thank you for being so nice.” They probably won’t ever think about that again, but I’ll think about it for the rest of my life.
