Welcome to your “we’re back from InfoComm 2023” issue. I’m bringing you some of our fantastic coverage from this year’s show in today’s newsletter. Gary’s first column details how the quality of leads from a show like InfoComm has become much more valuable than the quantity. In the second column this time, The Daily Raff, posted by yours truly, I write about my thoughts from the show floor. Hello! I’m reporting live from InfoComm 2023! This is SUCH a busy show for rAVe so to be honest, I didn’t have the most time to wander the show floor like I wanted. Most of my time was actually spent recording sponsor interviews with Tommy Wellenhofer, our multimedia intern, as my video shooter/handler/emotional support person.

Everyone who creates a standard has a vision for why they are doing so, for what problem it solves, for how it fits into the larger world. Nowhere does this appear more true than in the world of AV-over-IP, which has become a maze of walled gardens. This morning I met not one, but two groups attempting to create unity via different paths. The groups are the Alliance for IP Media Solutions, or AIMS and Audinate.
