The early success of productions such as “First Man” and Lucasfilm’s “The Mandalorian” encouraged film and broadcast studios, starting a global race to build virtual production studios using LED displays of all scales and formats. Now Megapixel applies its technologies from these studios to its newest creation: the Ventana microLED display system for luxury architectural applications.
On Sept. 11, 2023, a number of MGM resorts and casinos were simultaneously disrupted by ransomware and data extortion attackers, costing the company $100 million, according to AP News. Caesar’s Entertainment was also attacked, which the Wall Street Journal reported resulted in the company paying roughly half of the $30 million demanded.
It is commonplace for me to receive an email that asks what I recommend for a specific product. The first line of my reply will generally be to tell me more about the project, how the needed product will be used, the dimensions of the room it’s being used in, and more. I will also always ask about the desired budget because I like to know what expectations the customer has and for the sake of this column, I want to spend the bulk of our time discussing that topic deeper.
