From the latest on the flat panel and front projection markets (thanks to Futuresource) to a little on the audio demos from InfoComm 2023, we have all the latest news you lot could ever want. We even have the full list (with every single product video — the editorial intern and I put them all in ourselves) of winners of the 2023 Best of InfoComm awards. Our show-based awards are interesting — the team picks these based on the things we see at the show. We don’t give out awards in the same categories every year — we really only give these for products and brands that inspire us at each show.

The flat panel and front projection markets continue to battle a string of challenges, as Q1 of 2023 saw substantial declines in volume and value across both markets. The worldwide flat panel market volume saw losses at -8% YoY, with value dipping by -19%. For front projection, market volume fell -10.4% in CY 2023 Q1, with value reporting a similar trend at -9.7%.
One of my favorite things at the InfoComm trade show has always been the audio demo room, despite the fact that I don’t do a ton of the kinds of projects in which the gear in these spaces is aimed. Part of the reason is that “not a ton” doesn’t mean “none ever,” and it’s important to keep an eye (or, in this case, an ear) on larger-scale audio solutions.
