For starters, he says we need to define experience rather than the rooms the experiences are happening within. What type of work is happening there? What do the workers like doing? What are the methods that naturally take place? By asking the right questions, Chris says we can move toward the right direction of work.
In other news, did you see the news about WAVIT? Women in AV/IT will focus on supporting and educating the women in the AV and IT industries. Read Megan A. Dutta’s interview with Board Member Jennifer Goodyer all about the group, its mission and how to join.
We cannot escape the fact that almost all work is collaborative in nature. The more collaborative the environment, the better the outcomes. Whether we are talking about a distributed team in Silicon Valley and India working on some software widget or a tire shop training new staff, collaboration makes things better. We learn and grow and expand our experience via those we collaborate with. Collaboration (no matter how we choose to define it) really only has one objective — to enable people to work. Better. Together.
Women in AV/IT (WAVIT) officially launched on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2022. Founded by and for women, the group’s primary purpose is to strive for gender equality in the AV/IT industries and recruit and retain women in the industry.
